An increasing number of athletes at all levels are relying on individualized chiropractic care to ensure their body is capable of reaching it’s full potential. As an experienced athlete herself, Dr. Hess knows that to heal existing sports injuries and prevent new ones imbalances/tension in the spine, hips, knees and ankles must be corrected. To facilitate optimal performance she utilizes the newest techniques in spinal manipulation, electrical stimulation, Kinesiology Taping, Graston Technique, Biofreeze, and corrective exercises.
Misalignment of the spine or any other musculoskeletal area of the body causes pain, stress, and decreases quality of life. Dr. Hess identifies the source of discomfort and then corrects structural alignment in all parts of the body. You probably know that when vertebrae are gently realigned into their natural position pain subsides and range of motion is restored, but did you know that the immune system receives a boost as well? Proper alignment allows the nervous system to work efficiently, improving the entire body’s ability to function at its best.
Deficiencies caused by trauma include spinal injury, inflammation of joints and tissue damage. As soon as this happens non traumatized parts of the body begin compensating, further compromising wellness. Dr. Hess will take great care not only to restore alignment, injured tissues, and joint function but to also minimize compensation and prevent recurring injuries. Her services include thorough evaluation, personalized treatment (spinal manipulation, massage, electrical stimulation), and a rehabilitation exercise plan. Insurance billing available.
During pregnancy the spinal curve shifts to accommodate an infant’s growth. The relaxing of muscles, joints and ligaments lead to spinal destabilization and pelvic hypermobility. As the low back and pelvis become misaligned, the imbalance can move up through the spine. This often results in sciatic and pelvic pain, headaches, carpal tunnel, and other discomfort. Dr. Hess will use gentle methods including the Webster Technique to realign the spine and pelvis in a way that is safe for both baby and mother.
